Who Is David?
David is the founder and lead calculator developer at USCalculators.com America’s largest free calculator library with over 900 tools covering construction, landscaping, health, auto, solar energy, math, education, and 90+ specialty trades and hobbies. Every calculator on this site was designed, coded, and verified by David or his team.
By day, David works as a Lab and Computer Systems Manager at Coats a FTSE 250 global industrial thread and yarn manufacturer with 18,000+ employees across 50 countries. His professional background spans 20+ years in finance, data systems, laboratory operations, and process management: disciplines that directly inform how he builds calculators: with precision, accuracy, and a respect for what can go wrong when the math is off.
He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and an MSc from the University of Karachi. That quantitative foundation shapes every formula on this site: from ACI 318 concrete standards to CDC BMI guidelines to IRS solar tax credit rules.
Why USCalculators.com Exists
David built this site after years of noticing the same problem: existing online calculators for the US market either defaulted to metric units, missed critical US-specific standards, or produced results without any explanation of the underlying math. A landscaper needing cubic yards got cubic meters. A homebuilder needing ACI 318 guidance got a generic volume formula. He built USCalculators.com to fix that: one calculator at a time, all in American units, all referencing actual US regulatory and industry standards.
The Build Methodology
Before writing a single line of code for any calculator, David studies the top 10 existing tools for that calculation, identifies every missing feature, and builds all of them into the new version. The result is consistently more comprehensive than what you find elsewhere. Every tool uses Big.js precision arithmetic to eliminate floating-point errors, includes a PDF export, and is tested against known reference values before publishing.
